Prague Castle

Prague Castle is one of the largest castles in the world and towers over the city with its size. The castle has served as a royal palace since the 9th century. Inside the palace you can visit the “St. Vitus Cathedral” which is built in the Gothic architectural style. In the treasure room of the cathedral, the Wenceslas crown is kept. This crown is very well secured and sits in the Crown Chamber which is locked with seven locks and seven keys. The crown is shown to the public one day in ten years. Near the castle, you can take a walk through the “Golden Alley. This is an alley with all small colorful houses. Legend has it that alchemists used to try to make gold here.

The Charles Bridge

The Charles Bridge is one of the most famous sights in Prague that stands over the Vltava River. This bridge dates back to the 14th century and connects the Old Town with the Malá Strana district, where Prague Castle is located. The bridge is 200 meters long and almost 10 meters wide, and thirty statues of saints are displayed on the bridge. At the beginning and at the end of the bridge you have towers that you can climb for a great view.

Old Town Square

Old Town Square is the heart of Prague and this is a lively meeting point surrounded by beautiful buildings. In this square stands the “City Hall” where the famous “Astronomical Clock” can be found. Every hour this clock has a spectacle in which moving figures can be seen. Lots of spectators come to the clock every hour to see this. Around the square are all cozy restaurants and cafes.

Jewish Quarter

The Jewish Quarter in Prague is one of the best preserved Jewish neighborhoods in Europe. The neighborhood shows the Jewish history of the city very well. Petrine Hill and Petrine Tower

If you want a panoramic view of Prague, you should head to the “Petrine Tower. You can take a cable car to the top of ‘Petrin Hill’ and from there you can go up the 63 meter tower to enjoy the view. You first have to walk up 299 steps by foot to see the view, but this is definitely worth doing!

Dancing House

The “Dancing House” is a building with modern architecture. It looks like a dancing couple moving through the street and was built in the 1990s. This house is a feature of more modern Prague and at the top of the building is a restaurant where you can enjoy the view of the city.

John Lennon wall

In the Malá Strana neighborhood, you can visit the “John Lennon wall. This wall has been covered with graffiti and song lyrics of Beatle legend John Lennon since the 1980s. John was known as a symbol of peace for Czech youth during the communist regime in the country. Today, the wall is ever changing, with new artwork and messages from visitors around the world appearing on the wall.

The Vltava River

The Vltava River is a super fun way to explore the city from the water. You can take a cruise on it as you sail past famous sights such as, Charles Bridge, Prague Castle and many more. When it is evening, the whole city is beautifully illuminated, giving you a unique experience.
